This ornate set was created by Joseph & Horace Savory in London, 1867-1868. The four pieces include a coffee pot, tea pot, open sugar, and creamer. Inspired by the renowned Renaissance goldsmith and sculptor, Benvenuto Cellini, the design was popular in the late 19th century. It is remarkable for the chased and embossed decoration of animals and masks, strap work and flutes, scroll handles with sculpted female figures, and stepped circular bases and lids.
