Bruder Frank Austrian Sterling Enamel Compact, features a delicately hand painted image featuring a scene from “The Lady and the Unicorn” (a renowned series of six medieval tapestries).  The interior shows fine and detailed inked etching. The back is engine-turned sterling silver and red enamel on four sides. Hallmarks for Brüder Frank, Vienna 935 silver.

The Frank Brothers Gold and Silver Factory was founded in 1887 in Vienna. Bruder Frank was very well-known in Austria, but also exported to Germany, Holland, Switzerland, and Russia. In 1889 Frank Brothers were represented in the Special Exhibition of Austrian Art at the Austrian Museum of Art and Industry, and at the exhibition of the Austrian Art Industry 1850-1914.
